I confirm Logitech Quickcam Zoom Silver (usb product ID: 046d:08b4) doesn’t work. Tested on Linux Ubuntu 7.10.

Exactly driver exist, the driver name’s pwc and is integrated in Ubuntu 7.10. Pwc recognize and load this webcam but doesn’t work.

Ubuntu load this webcam with pwc driver (v.10.0.12-rc1, at this moment the latest release), but when an application try to use this webcam, it stop to work and System Monitor report status application as Uninterruptible.

According to site developer (http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/) this webcam require an option to work fine: (On some webcam likes Quickcam Zoom Silver (usb product ID: 046d:08b4), you need to set module option: powersave=1) so I have inserted options pwc powersave=1 in this file /etc/modprobe.d/options to add required option but unfortunately it doesn’t work anyway.

Just one time, after more o less one hour I have leaved camorama blocked and in Uninterruptible status this application misteriosy start and my webcam has worked just for 2 or 3 seconds then application return blocked and in Uninterruptible status!!!

Note: Camorama is a small utility to view, alter and save images from a webcam.
