QTY1 Vintage IEE NIMO 6000-92-0006 Numeric Display Tube – Rare Multi-Gun CRT
Offered here is a rare vintage IEE (Industrial Electronic Engineers) NIMO 6000-92-0006 numeric display tube, a multi-gun CRT-based numerical indicator developed as an advanced alternative to classic Nixie-style displays. This listing is for one tube only. This tube is from a recently purchased "Cache" of tubes (as shown in the photos, of which this listing is for 1 (ONE) Tube. Discounts will be applied for multiple tubes purchased.) The price for these tubes was set by previous sale since no current realized pricing was available. This was done to be as fair as possible to collectors.
These tubes are used and untested, however the Getters are Dark Chrome, the glass clear, signifying vacuum integrity.. It is from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and part of a former prominent employee's estate. Each tube purchased will have a numeral burn-in pattern visible when un-powered. This characteristic is common on surviving NIMO tubes and is part of their historical patina and authenticity.
Key details:
Model: NIMO 6000-92-0006 numeric display tube
Display type: Multi-gun CRT numeric indicator (NIMO style)
Visible “0” digit burn-in on the target, as shown
Single tube only in this listing
No testing has been performed and no guarantees are made regarding functionality, emission, or suitability for any specific application. Vintage high-voltage devices like this should only be powered and handled by knowledgeable, qualified individuals.

About George Kamin George Kamin was a researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) as well as a Senior Principle Systems Analyst at Medtronic, whose work in the late 1980s and early 1990s focused on high‑power electron beam systems, uranium vaporization technology, and accelerator development. His contributions included work on a 16‑MW electron‑beam current modulator, laser‑based uranium vaporization for AVLIS (Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation), and beam‑steering algorithms for recirculating induction accelerators. Kamin’s research intersected with major LLNL and Sandia National Laboratories programs of the era, and he was also widely known for his extensive collection of radioactive minerals and geological specimens which have been sold in national sales.
This tube and any listings of similar tubes and equipment were part of his personal instrumentation and come directly from his estate. He collected and worked with new and used equipment, specimens, scintillation devices, Geiger counters and many types of high energy equipment, detectors, photo-multipliers and related devices which will be listed in the near future.
Note: If you are interested in a matched group, please see our separate listing featuring an equally rare four-tube parallel assembly for collectors or experimental display builds. Only 6 total of these multi-tube assemblies are available in separate listing.
