Netgear WG311 v2

Hardware That Doesn't Work with Linux

Manufacturer: Netgear

Model number: WG311 v2 and WG311 v3

Chipset: ACX111

PCI id:

Reason (no specs from manufacturer, really new hardware, etc): no specs from manufacturer

Brokeness (1 to 10 with 10 meaning it works perfectly): 5

URL for more information: http://www.netgear.com/, http://www.ti.com/

Bugzilla # for kernel bugs database:

Contact (your email): cyfex#wthess.net

Notes: TI doesn’t release any chipset informations and no linux support is supplied by DLink or TI. At the moment (08/2004) there is a project for an open source driver for kernel 2.4.x and 2.6.x but is still in development phase: http://acx100.sourceforge.net/. Works even worse than cards with ACX100

Comments (this is where other people comment on the entry):

This card (WG311v2) worked perfectly for me out of the box with Ubuntu Edgy. No Ndiswrapper required. The WG311v3 did NOT work at all (even with ndiswrapper).

One word: ndiswrapper ->http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Netgear\_WG311\_v2 ->http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Suse\_Professional\_9.x
