Epson Aculaser C900

Hardware That Doesn't Work with Linux

Manufacturer: Epson

Model number: Aculaser C900

Chipset:

PCI id:

Reason (no specs from manufacturer, really new hardware, etc): Incompatible with PCL3 as EPSON claims. Third party redhat drivers for lpr exist. The EPSON-binaries are also included in a CUPS backend which fully supports the printer for i386 and x86 64 systems (rpm, deb, slack, gentoo - System V or BSD). The driver core only exists as closed source.

Brokeness (1 to 10 with 10 meaning it works perfectly): 8

Notes:

Comments (this is where other people comment on the entry): Servicing (change of toner, etc.) is a bit clumsy, but the rest works perfectly.
