My wife’s new Asus notebook comes with one of these, and it seems to work ok, but it requires the proprietary drivers to do full 1280x768 resolution (at least as far as I can tell).
I’ve got it on a Toshiba Satellite M50 and it works OK in 2D and was easy to install with the Xorg ATI driver. 1280X768 was no problem for me, but you must use the ATI proprietary fglrx driver for 3D and turn off Composite in xorg.conf.
I’ve got compaq Presario v2404us with this card and everything works ok with opensource xorg driver. Native resolution 1280X768 is no problem, and I did not have to mess up anything - it worked right after install
