Reason:

Due to missing specs from NVidia, the soundstorm chip cannot be used. So, with ALSA, the board cannot provide some features highlighted by NVidia:

• Hardware mixing
• AC3 encoding (aka dolby digital)
• AC3 output on SPDIF plug (which is a real pain for home-cinema)

PCM output and analog output works fine.

Functionality (from 0 to 100% of full functionality): 80%

Notes:

• The problem has been aknowledged by alsa http://www.alsa-project.org/], but they cannot do much without some info from NVidia.

• Some AC3 decoder may ignore SPDIF control bits and actually decode the AC3 stream. Other decoder will not work.
