Flexcam 100

Hardware That Doesn't Work with Linux

Manufacturer: Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd.

Model number: Flexcam 100, Adcom IC 100

Chipset: SPCA561, SPCA561A

Vendor Id: 04fc

Product Id: 0561

Reason (no specs from manufacturer, really new hardware, etc): Realy no specs and, or support from the manufacturer, developers are trying hard, driver still is experimental. complies under kernel version 2.4.x, mxhaard claims it should compile under 2.5.x and, or 2.6.x, but I was could not compile it under 2.6.8-rc2

Brokeness (1 to 10 with 10 meaning it works perfectly): 1

Bugzilla # for kernel bugs database:

Notes: The driver spca50x is a pioneering work, it supports around 56 models. But the development and, or refinement to the code, being to complicated is slow. Response to bugs reports is also slow. The developers' pet replies are -- we don't have that webcam model to test.

Comments (this is where other people comment on the entry):

The Flexcam 100 works fine with the spca5xx driver and spcaview software from this site:

The driver from sourceforge is useless. \n
